The popular newsreader will relocate to Sydney in the new year and take up her place at the desk on the long running panel show. Appearing on the program this morning Jacobs said she was excited to be taking on some new challenges.

Jacobs has fronted Channel Ten’s Perth news bulletins for over a decade, and has been with the network for 19 years, making her one of the most prominent indigenous and queer people in the media.  Her new role will see her sharing her thoughts on the big news stories and social issues each weekday.

“This is a bittersweet move for me,” Jacobs said this morning, “over my time at 10 Perth I’ve been privileged to see just how strong the community spirit is in the West.”

“Living alongside so many generous and talented people makes it one of the best places on earth.”

While she’s been based on the west coast, Jacobs has regularly appeared on national programs including Studio 10 and The Project. She’s also made appearances on other networks including joining the Q&A panel at the ABC, and cohosting SBS’s coverage of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Catch Narelda’s first appearance on Studio 10 on Monday, January 13 in 2020 alongside Sarah Harris, Angela Bishop, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Joe Hildebrand, Natarsha Belling and Denise Drysdale.
