The Elephant of Eastbury

A new book combining the work of poet Andrew Gates and local artist Laura Mitchell is set to be launched in Fremantle this month. Gates’ story is about of a child who visits his grandmother only to find her motionless, accompanied by a small bejeweled elephant. Mitchell has created a series of images that illustrate the work which are best described as ‘metaphorical mindscapes’.
