Candlelight Memorial for Mayang Prasetyo

yay-10324540UWA’s Student Guild is hosting a candlelight memorial for Mayang Prasetyo.

The Brisbane transgender woman was killed last week and her death lead to some of the most insensitive reporting of recent years.

The organisers highlight that as a transgender woman, a sex worker and a woman of colour, Mayang was a member of some of the most marginalised groups in society.

The memorial will be at Stirling Gardens on Tuesday October 21st at 6pm. Find all the details on the events Facebook page.
