CD Review: Put Your Back N 2 It

Perfume Genius
Put Your Back N 2 It

Matador

Perfume Genius is back with his second album, the Seattle based singer who caught our attention with his track Gay Angels two years ago presents another mellow and sublime collection of haunting tunes. Normal Song is sweet and peaceful and just plain lovely, but as the album goes on the sameness of the songs starts to take away from their beauty. Dark Parts picks up the pace, All Waters is stark but warm and album closer Sister Song is gorgeous. If you like Antony and the Johnsons you’ll lap this up.
