Phoenixtv.com will air China’s first gay television show, Tongxing Xianglian, or Connecting Homosexuals. The show will be hosted by the openly gay AIDS activist Didier Zheng and focus on issues in China’s gay community, including legal rights, gay parenting and HIV/AIDS. Under the Communist regime, GLBTs in China faced severe discrimination. It is unclear if the show will be subject to censorship.
