Equal Love holds snap-rally in central Perth

Just seven days after hundred of people turned out for Equal Love’s ‘Winter Vows’ marriage rally, the activist group returned the the centre of Perth’s shopping precinct and reminded everyone that the issue of marriage equality isn’t going to go away.

Expressing extreme disappointment with the government’s decision to push forward with the plebiscite, and subsequently a postal survey, over a free vote, the speakers didn’t hold back their thoughts on the issue.

After the rally the entire crowd marched off to a community meeting to plan future activities to win public support for marriage equality. The crowd loudly shouted their chants in support of marriage equality through Forrest Chase, through out the Perth train station and across the cultural centre.

The next Equal love rally for marriage equality is on Saturday August 19 from 1pm in the Murray Street Mall.
