GRL's Simone Battle Dead at 25

Siimone BattleSimone Battle, a member of the pop group GRL has been found dead, the singer was 25 years old.

A joint statement from Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records, and RCA Records reads:

‎”We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.”

GRL were originally pitched as a new version of the Pussycat Dolls before being re-tooled as a new band.

Battle first found fame on the US version of X Factor, she took part in the show’s live finals. She was later picked up by Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin to be a member of the new group.

GRL’s frst musical output was the song ‘Vacation’ from the ‘Smurfs 2’ movie. Their debut single ‘Ugly Heart’ was released earlier this year and topped the charts here in Australia and in many other countries around the world. The band released their debut EP in July and had been supporting Miley Cyrus on parts of her ‘Bangerz World Tour’.
