High Court challenge to postal plebiscite launched

Independent MP Andrew Wilkie and marriage equality activists will launch a High Court challenge to the government’s postal survey on marriage equality.

The challenge will involve Wilkie and marriage equality activists Shelley Argent and Felicity Marlowe according to SBS. Wilkie also posted the announcement on his website.

Earlier this morning the government’s plebiscite legislation was defeated in the senate for a second time. The government now plans to roll out a national vote on the issue of marriage equality that will be delivered the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
