A new trailer for the film shows Star Taron Egerton and director Dexter Fletcher talking about the challenge of singing Elton John’s songs in the film.

“The thing about playing someone who is so beloved is all we can do is give our heartfelt interpretation of his life and his music.” Egerton says in the new clip.

Director Dexter Fletcher praises Egerton saying he’s an actor of incredible range.

Fletcher was brought in to finish Bohemian Rhapsody when director Bryan Singer was fired from the film weeks before it wrapped filming. The actor director is best known for his starring role in 90’s TV series Press Gang and the cult-hit Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Fletcher previously directed the films Wild Bill, Eddie the Eagle and Sunshine on Leith which featured the music of The Proclaimers.

Check out the new trailer, and it’s poster. Rocketman is in cinemas on 30th May 2019.
