Golden is the fourteenth album in Minogue’s long career and her fifth Australian number one. Kylie’s previous number ones in Australia have included Light Years (2000), Fever (2001), X (2007), and Kiss Me Once (2014).

The album also debuted in the top spot of the UK charts, giving Kylie her sixth British number one album.

Golden has been heralded as one of Kylie’s most personal albums to date and saw her working alongside songwriter Steve McEwan (whose credits include huge country hits for Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood), and Amy Wadge (best known for her mega-selling work with Ed Sheeran).

The truly international project was rounded out with African-German producer Sky Adams and a list of contributors including Jesse Frasure, Eg White, Jon Green, Biff Stannard, Samuel Dixon, Danny Shah and Lindsay Rimes, and includes a duet with English singer Jack Savoretti.
