It’ll be the first time the acclaimed show has been presented in Australia. When the set was performed in the UK, the London Evening Standard described it as lush and mesmerising.

The show is conducted by Troy Miller who has created stunning new arrangements of Gershwin’s music including some of his biggest hits like Embraceable You, Summertime and I Got Rhythm.

UK funk and soul singer Laura Mvula has twice been nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. This will be her first performance in Western Australia. Her 2012 debut album Sing to the Moon was critically acclaimed, and then re-recorded with a symphony orchestra. Mvula’s follow-up record The Dreaming Room was released in 2016, the album saw her collaborating with Nile Rodgers and covering music from The Delphonics, Coldplay and Perth’s Tame Impala.

Jose James has often been described as a jazz singer for the hip-hop generation and audiences that caught his previous shows in Perth have raved about his talent. He’s released 8 albums of music but has also collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Basement Jaxx and Jazzanova.

Gershwin Reimagined is presented on Friday 7th June and Saturday 8th June 2019, book tickets now
