Lisa Scaffidi Elected Perth Lord Mayor

For the first time in 12 years, Perth has a new Lord Mayor. Lisa Scaffidi won the election, defeating four other candidates. Ms Scaffidi takes over the post from Peter Nattrass and has already expressed a desire to turn her pro-development platform into action.

‘I was hearing a very strong call from the community at large that we needed to harness the debates being held in the greater community for greater city vibrancy. Post the visits of Charles Landry and Carol Coletta, there was a real desire for the corporate stakeholders to become engaged in the debate on where Perth is going at this time… My platform became an action plan and I said ‘the time has come for more action, not just talk.”
