Soul singer Macy Gray will be at the Astor in just a few weeks

Soul singer Macy Gray is heading to The Astor Theatre later this month for a live DJ set.

The singer will be performing her big hits, and then taking to the decks to spin her favourite tunes. The show’s at the theatre on September 27th, and tickets go on sale tomorrow.

The raspy voiced singer has released six albums during her career which kicked off in the late ’90s. She scored  big hits with her first album On How Life Is which contained the hits I Try and Do Something. 

On her second alum The Id Gray teamed up with Erykah Badu for the tune Sweet Baby. Around the same tiem she also make an appearance on Fatboy Slim’s Demons. 

In recent years the singer has released a covers album that saw her take on tunes originally by artists as diverse as Metallica, Arcade Fire, My Chemical Romance and The Eurythmics.

Gray’s most recent album is Stripped,  a record which saw he take a new musical direction, exploring jazz sounds and recording each song live. The album features jazz renditions of many of the singer’s earlier hits.

Tickets to the show go on Sale Tuesday 12 September from The Astor Theatre.
