In an interview with Billboard Madonna revealed that many different versions of the song were created as her production team tried to decide exactly what kind of sound the track should have.

Alicia Keys plays piano on the track but Madonna revealed that some of the other versions that will appear down the track also feature British artist MNEK.

The video was directed by J.A.C.K. (Husband and Wife team Julien Choquart and Camille Hirigoyen). Madonna is dressed as a Matador while her dancers portray the bull.

At the end of the video a quote from Friedrich Nietzsche appears; “Man is the cruelest animal. At tragedies, bullfights and crucifixions he has felt best on earth; and when he invented hell for himself that was his very heaven.”

The video is reminiscent of Madonna’s video for ‘Take a Bow’ that also featured a matador, while some of the dance moves she displays are identical to the choreography of ‘Papa Don’t Preach’.

Always one to dive into new ways of promoting and sharing music. Madonna’s new video was released to social media platform SnapChat (add us – OUTinPerth) before being available on other services 24 hours later. Just like all other SnapChat video’s Madonna’s clip could no longer been seen after a period of time.

Madonna is set to appear at the Grammy Awards to promote the single, followed by an appearance at the Brit Awards. Her new album is set to be released in March.
