Rose Parker ready to release new album 'Under the Same Sun'

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Rose is launching her new album Under the Same Sun at the Fly By Night in Fremantle on Sunday 10th December.

Parker draws from folk, alt country, gospel and blues to craft clear-eyed songs which touch on hope and resignation, humour and grief, gratitude and resilience.

The album has been produced under the guidance of David Hyams and engineered by Lee Buddle at the highly renowned Crank Studios.

The new recording features some well respected local musicians, including David Hyams on guitars, Lucky Oceans on pedal steel, Roy Martinez on Bass and keys, Elliot Smith on drums and percussion , Melanie Robinson on Cello, Phoebe Corke on violin, Mark Underwood on trumpet, Harry Deluxe and Mel Bainbridge on backing vocals and includes a duet with Dave Mann on vocals and slide guitar.

Entitled Under The Same Sun, this album features 12 songs draws from folk, indie rock and alternative country and has been described as “dreamy layered guitars and soaring harmony laden vocals, warm bass and whispers of Hammond organ.”

For the launch of this album the Fly By Night Club will be transformed into a Bohemian chill out lounge filling the space with couches, persian rugs, ottomans and lamps. Support acts include Bec Scofield and Dave Mann.
