Shangela lands a role on 'Riverdale' spin-off 'Katy Keene'


One of the biggest names to come out of RuPaul’s Drag Race has just scored a new role in an upcoming TV series.

Shangela Laquifa Wadley, of seasons 2, 3 and All Stars 3 of Drag Race, has been cast as a “ruthless” drag performer named Devereaux in an upcoming spin-off of Riverdale that will follow the titular character Katy Keene.

“From internet personality to A-list drag queen,” Devereaux official character description reads.

“Her greatest talent is flaunting this wave of success. Her ruthless competitiveness is what keeps her on top.”

Shangela has made numerous cameo and supporting appearances on television in Community, The X-Files, Bones and more, most recently appearing alongside Lady Gaga and fellow Drag Race alum Willam in A Star Is Born.

Shangie is also set to star in an upcoming reality series with Bob The Drag Queen and Eureka called We’re Here for HBO, bringing a little drag to small towns across the United States.
