This Month in Perth's Biggest Queer Loser…

Two months into the competition, the OUTinPerth team hasn’t seen any loss on the scales, but AM notes that ‘we are all fitter and some have even gone down a size. We’re putting it down to muscle weighing more than fat!’

The OUTinPerth team has three weekly sessions: Tuesday evenings on the South Perth foreshore gym equipment, Thursday evening tae kwon do, and a Saturday morning bike ride around the river. Team member LE reports tae kwon do as her favourite activity because ‘trainer Sandy really pushes the squad’, while AM prefers the bike rides, which she says are ‘a great start to the weekend and heaps of fun’! The team has shown notable improvement on their Saturday rides and can now do 16 kilometers in under an hour!

The OUTinPerth team invites anyone interested in dropping a few kilos (or even those interested in putting on a few) to join the training sessions. You don’t have to be a part of biggest loser to come, though LE quips, ‘you have to be able to keep up!’ Bike hire is $5 (rather than the usual $12), and all other training sessions are free.
