Tori Amos Announces Perth Show

Tori Amos IMG_1576 jpgTori Amos is bring her acclaimed ‘Unrepentant Geraldines’ tour to Australia and will be playing at the Riverside Theatre on November 18th.

On the heels of her 14th studio album ‘Unrepentant Geraldines’ the tour will include a very special show at the Sydney Opera House, at which Tori will be accompanied by the 42-piece Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

During the tour Amos has been performing a collection of her own hits, but each night has also included a intriguing cover version or two. In Austria she added songs from ‘The Sound of Music’ and Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst , while in Russia she made a statement about the country’s tough anti-gay laws by singing Tatu’s ‘All the Things She Said’.

The timing of Amos’ tour means she’ll be in Perth during the 2014 Pridefest. Amos has been a log time supporter of gay rights, she started her career playing the piano in gay bars as a teenager.

It’s been five years since Amos last toured Australia, since then she’s released three albums of material including ‘Gold Dust’ which saw her rework some of her older songs into a classic style.

Amos’ Australia tour will begin at the Sydney Sydney Opera House, accompanied by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday November 11 before visiting  Melbourne’s Palais Theatre, Melbourne on Saturday November 15, Her Majesty’s Theatre in Adelaide on Sunday November 16, Perth’s Riverside Theatre on Tuesday November 18 and finally ending up at the QPAC Concert Hall in Brisbane on Friday November 21.
