Troye Sivan scores Golden Globe nomination

Troye Sivan has scored a Golden Globes nomination. Revelation the song he wrote for the film Boy Erased has been nominated for Best Original Song.

Sivan performed the song with Sigur Ros singer Jonsi, who co-wrote the song with Sivan and his regular collaborator Leland. The tender track faces some stiff competition, also nominated in the category is Lady Gaga’s Swallow from A Star is Born, as well as a tune by Dolly Parton, and songs from Black Panther and A Private War. 

Boy Erased’s lead actor Lucas Hedges also scored a nomination for his performance. He’ll face off against Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born), Willem Dafoe (At Eternity’s Gate), Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) and  John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman) for the Best Actor in a Drama.

The Best Actress in Drama category features nominations for Glenn Close (The Wife), Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born), Nicole Kidman (Destroyer), Melissa McCarthy (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) and  Rosamund Pike (A Private War).

Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, If Beale Street Could Talk and A Star Is Born are up for Best Drama Film, while Crazy Rich Asians, The Favourite, Green Book, Mary Poppins Returns and Vice will complete for Best Comedy or Musical Film.

For Best Actress is a Musical or Comedy Emily Blunt (Mary Poppins Returns) is nominated alongside Olivia Colman (The Favourite), Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade), Charlize Theron (Tully) and Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians).

In the male category for Comedy or Musical Actor Christian Bale has been nominated for his role in Vice, alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns), Viggo Mortensen (Green Book), Robert Redford (The Old Man & the Gun) and John C. Reilly (Stan & Ollie).

Pose the TV series which brings to life New York Ballroom scene of the late 1980’s has been nominated for Best TV series, and Bill Porter who plays Prey Tell on the series has been nominated for Best Performance by Actor in a Television Series.

Debra Messing got a nod for her role on Will and Grace, and American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace is nominated for Best Mini Series, and lead actor Darren Criss has also scored a nomination.  The UK Series A Very English Scandal has also been nominated, as has it’s two actors Hugh Grant and Ben Wishaw.
