Whoopi Goldberg teases new Sister Act reboot in the works

Whoopi Goldberg has teased that there is a new Sister Act movie in the works – but she may not be a big part of it.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain, Goldberg said the musical nuns would be back in their habits in a new way.

“We’ve been all over Disney begging, and they’ve decided they are going to go in a different direction,” Goldberg said.

“It wont be Sister Act 3, it will be a brand new rendition of Sister Act.

The original film debuted in 1992 with Goldberg, Kathy Najimy, Harvey Keitel and Dame Maggie Smith – spawning a 1993 sequel and a critically-acclaimed Broadway show.

Goldberg adds that she’s more likely to get a cameo appearance than a third starring role in the series.

“I guess I’ll walk through a scene and that’s how they’ll say I was part of it.”
