Russian pop duo t.a.T.u., which rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits such as ‘All the Things She Said’, is reportedly going to play at the Opening Ceremony of the Sochi Winter Olympics.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the duo will play at the warm up show which is not internationally broadcast. The Russian Olympic team is set to enter the venue to t.a.T.u.’s ‘Not Going to Get Us’.

The band, comprised of Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova are known for their use of Sapphic imagery. Their 2003 video for ‘All the Things She said’ is one example of the duo making out with each other on camera.

According to Russia’s ‘gay propaganda’ law, it is illegal to make “nontraditional sexual relations attractive” or create “an interest in nontraditional sexual relations”.

The choice seems like an interesting one for this journalist, who, upon seeing t.a.T.u’s video for ‘All the Things She Said’ at the age of ten, suddenly became aware of her interest in nontraditional sexual relations.
