Private Lives 4: Australia’s largest LGBTIQA+ health survey now open

Australia’s largest national health and wellbeing survey for LGBTIQA+ adults is now open and the team wants to hear from you.

Run by the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) at La Trobe University, Private Lives 4 aims to better understand and support the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ people in Australia, and will inform implementation of the Albanese Government’s National Action Plan for the Health and Wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ People 2025 – 2035.

The survey contains questions about mental and physical health, identity, service access, families and relationships, and community connections. It will also delve into more sensitive topics including discrimination, alcohol and other drug use, family and intimate and partner violence.

Private Lives 4 is designed to capture diversity within our community as well, with questions specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, trans and gender diverse people, people with disabilities and people with innate variations of sex characteristics.

If you are over the age of 18, currently living in Australia and are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, asexual, intersex or use any other descriptor to identify diversity in sexuality, sex and gender.

You can take the Private Lives 4 survey here.
