Turn it up to eleven: Metallica book Australian tour

Lovers of loud music can rejoice – rock gods Metallica have announced their coming on tour. It’ll be the band’s first tour of Australian and New Zealand in over five years.

The six date tour will commence in Perth with a massive show at Optus Stadium. So far the band’s World Wired Tour has played over 130 dates around the globe. Joining the band for their trip around Australia and New Zealand will be Slipknot.

There’s lots of ways you can get tickets, fan club Presales begin Tuesday, March 12 from 1pm. American Express Card Members are also among the first with access to tickets, with a presale beginning Wednesday, March 13 at 3pm in Sydney and 2pm (local time) in all other cities. Visit amexinvites.com.au for details. Tickets go on sale to the general public Monday, March 18 at 3pm in Sydney and 2pm (local time) in all other cities.

As with most of Metallica’s WorldWired shows, every ticket purchased includes a choice of standard physical or standard digital copy of the band’s 10th and current album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.

And once again, all tickets will include a free MP3 download of the shows attended, mixed and mastered by the team behind Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.

The band’s latest album is the tenth in their long career. Their debut album Kill ‘Em All was released in 1983. THe band achieved mainstream chart success in the 1990s with their album Metallica, Load and Reload.
