Foxtel has poured cold water on reports suggesting that a new series of the popular reality drama The Real Housewives of Melbourne is in the works.

The last season of the show aired in early 2018 and coincided with the original stars of the show’s contracts expiring. Despite The Daily Mail reporting a new series has been given a green light, a representative for Foxtel told TV industry website TV Blackbox that no decision had been made on the future of the show.

Since the series wrapped the stars of the show have been working on other projects, Gamble Breaux has launched a music career, Chyka Keebaugh published a book and Jackie Gillies appearing on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. 

The reports had suggested that a new series would feature major cast changes with only Lydia Schiavello confirmed as a returning cast member.

So far four seasons of Real Housewives of Melbourne have aired since the show debuted. A single season of Real Housewives of Sydney aired before being axed.
