Bob Sinclair – WESTERN DREAM – Hussy

It’s been difficult to escape Bob Sinclar’s Love Generation so far this year. It’s on air, on compilations and there are two mixes on the album, it captures the feel of Western Dream well. There’s a thumping four-four beat and an appeal to the anthem-loving crowd. The funky riff of Sing My Song is a highlight, sounding at times like a Lenny Kravitz breakout room. But when the ballad appeal of the latest single World, Hold On is being driven by the same beat and devices, the album tires. There is some relief with Give A Lil’ Love, where Sinclar, alter ego of Christophe Le Friant, realises less can be more. All in all some good work, but a short shelf life.
