The show was punctuated by performances from some of the best shows that have been on in the last twelve months but the absolute highlight was the shows closing number, a performance of Don’t Rain on My Parade from the musical Funny Girl.

Earlier this month the Sydney Symphony Orchestra staged a concert version of the musical with twelve different performers taking on the lead role of Fanny Brice.

For the closing number of the Helpmann Awards Michala Banas, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Casey Donovan, Virginia Gay, Verity Hunt-Ballard, Dami Im, Maggie McKenna, Zahra Newman, Caroline O’Connor, Queenie van de Zandt and Trevor Ashley all took to the stage together.

It was the highlight of the performances- check it out below.
