Grease Actor Sid Caesar Dies at 91

grease_126pyxurzComedic actor Sid Caesar has passed away, he was 91 years old.

The actor is known to generations of film fans as Coach Calhoun from the 1978 film ‘Grease’. Caesar also reprised the role in the 1982 sequel.

While Caesar is most recognisable for his role in ‘Grease’ the actor was an acclaimed sketch comic who starred in many early comedy shows on television.

Caesar is also remembered for his patronage of new comic writers with many of the writers of his television work going on to be writers of note including Woody Allen, Neil Simon and M*A*S*H writer Larry Gelbart.
