Migrant Workers Rights Forum

Are ‘global workers’ becoming a concomitant of the globalised market place? The UWA Institute of Advanced Studies will present a FREE public forum entitled, ‘Migrant Workers and Labour Rights in Australia and Asia’. The forum will address the themes of working conditions and rights of migrant workers across the region, as well as the tensions that may arise in terms of their citizenship and broader societal rights. Responses from a panel consisting of participants from Singapore, Hong Kong, Lolkata (Calcutta) and Sydney from both government and civil society will be canvassed before opening the forum to debate.

‘Migrant Workers and Labour Rights in Australia and Asia’ will take place on Thursday 15 March at 6.00pm in the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre, UWA.
