NZ Man Found Guilty of Manslaughter

 

new-zealand-flag[1]In New Zealand, a 20 year old man has been found guilty of the manslaughter of Wellington journalist Philip Cottrell.

In December 2011 Nicho Allan Waipuka punched Cottrell causing him to fall and hit his head on concrete breaking his skull.

Cottrell also suffered multiple breaks to his arm and head injuries.

During the trial the jury heard that Waipuka and another man had atttacked the victim because he ‘looked gay’.

Police are considering appealing the verdict as they had been hoping for a murder conviction for both accused men.
