Pink Sofa Cup

The Pink Sofa Cup grew from a conversation between some of the Ace Girls (Vic) and Loton Park (WA) players at the Melbourne Outgames in 2008. The conversation sparked ideas about a national Lesbian Tennis competition and thanks to sponsorship from lesbian social web site, the Pink Sofa, this has been made possible.

The inaugural Pink Sofa Cup tournament was held in Perth in 2008, with the home side, Loton Park, taking out the trophy. This year the Pink Sofa Cup is being held in Melbourne, with WA teaming up with NSW. Players are still welcome to join the teams and players of all levels are welcome with the focus being on enjoyment and meeting other lesbians.

According to www.pinksofa.com.au ‘Sponsoring the Pink Sofa cup is a great fit for Pink Sofa as we continue to develop relationships with sporting and other groups and support their endeavours both online and out in the community’ said Pink Sofa Founder and CEO Liz James. ‘We wish the organisers and participants all the best for the Pink Sofa Cup!’.
