Protestors Object to Pastor's Service

Adeboye ProtestProtestors handed out leaflets to supporters of Nigerian Pastor Enoch Adeboye when he visited Perth recently. The religious leader had previously spoken about gay marriage leading to the end of the human race and describes homosexuality as being evil.

Jaye Christie from the Secular Coalition of Australia and New Zealand said she was shocked that attendees were unaware of the Pastor’s comments in Africa. “They literally have no idea what this guy is up to back in Africa,” said Christie.

OUTinPerth estimates that approximately 250 people attended the Pastor’s service.

In January this year the pastor spoke at Obafemi Awolowo University where he described homosexuality as being evil.

“Same-sex marriage is an anathema to the will of God for human beings to be fruitful, replenish and multiply on earth – anything contrary to that is evil.”

“How can a man who marries a fellow man produce a child and how can a woman who marries a fellow woman produce a child?”

“If this evil is allowed to stay, there will not be newborns again in the world. As the older generation dies, will there be a new generations to succeed it? Even plants and animals have new generations to succeed them.”

Pastor Adeboye’s recent tour included Australian capital cities, New Zealand, Fiji, The Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
