Ryan Murphy's new series Pose vogues into the New York ballroom scene

Perhaps the busiest man in television, Ryan Murphy has revealed he is launching a new television series that looks into the fierce New York ballroom scene of the 1980’s.

Murphy is currently overseeing four incredibly popular anthology series including American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Scream Queens.

His latest résumé entry Feud focuses on notorious public rivalries, with season 1 revolving around the famous rift between divas Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon).

The early synopsis for Pose describes the core of the series as a “juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York City – the emergence of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world.”

Set in the year of 1986, it seems his latest work will not follow the anthology style of his current shows – but Murphy is nothing if not full of surprises.

Murphy fans can expect the seventh season of American Horror Story later this year, loosely inspired by USA’s 2016 Presidential election.

American Crime Story‘s second season will look into the legal fallout from Hurricane Katrina and next year’s Feud will peer into the drama between the late Princess Diana and her widower Prince Charles.
