Will You Marry Me?

Gemini Downs‘Will You Marry Me?’, that’s the question Adelaide band Gemini Downs ask in their new video. The sweet song is a call out for marriage equality inspired by the band members own family experiences.

“I wrote this song about my brother because he’s gay and I want him to be able to marry the love of his life. I hope you enjoy it and help me to share the love,” said singer Jessica Braithwaite who wrote the song with her brother Sean.

Upon releasing the video the band sent this note to politicians and encouraged them to watch the song’s clip.

“We have two older brothers and they are both in love, but only one of them can marry the love of his life because we have no marriage equality in Australia.

“We wrote this song because we hate seeing discrimination and we believe all love should be celebrated. We hope that this video helps to spread a positive message about the beauty of equality.”
