Women March To Reclaim The Night

Reclaim The Night is an international event designed to raise awareness of sexual violence against women. On the last Friday in October, in cities around the world, women and children take to the streets in what is often an empowering show of strength and courage.

Walking through the city streets at night may not seem like such a big deal for some, but to women who have suffered violence at the hands of men, it can be a fearful experience. Reclaim The Night gives women the opportunity to walk freely without fear, if even for just a brief period of time.

This year, on October 30, the Reclaim The Night march will gather at the Wellington St exit of the Perth Train Station at 6.30pm and at 7pm will make its way to the Stirling Gardens. A concert with speakers, performers and entertainers will be held in Stirling Gardens after the march.

The event is wheelchair accessible and an Auslan interpreter can be provided on request. For more information call Amanda on 0421 137 672 or email roarwomen@hotmail.com
