Review: Men in Pink Tights

Men in Pink Tights - Image by Eduardo Patino

He’s known as Victor Trevino, but clearly the diva who brought the house down on stage last night at the Regal Theatre, was no-other than the principal ballerina diva herself, Nina Minimaximova. Trading blows under their gilded tulle, the Les Ballets Eloelles’s dancer ballet company, which based in New York, had the audience in the palm of their hands from opening strands of Swan Lake. And speaking of hands mine were excruciating sore by the end of Act Three.

Fourteen incredibly stage savy performers excelled in this three-part stage show. Perfectly balanced with sound that never overshadowed the performances (all done on pointe); the ensemble never faltered. Comic genius rarely seen matched with the dexterity that is ballet was faultless in execution and comic timing.

At times I felt it was hard to believe that the femme dancers were not merely just ‘guys with balls’ but elegant swans in disguise.

Their final performance on this leg of their tour is tonight at 8pm. I would suggest it’s time to sell either your mother or your sister, in order to get a ticket to this hilarious romp. You will not be disappointed!

Men in Pink Tights in on at The regal Theatre and touring nationally.
