A Bulgarian MEP Angel Dzhambazki made controversial comments about Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst in an interview with One Europe.

Dzhambazki described the ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’ singer as “like genetically modified organism”. He also stated that he wondered “if the vice of our time is that we tolerate the perversity” and said that he wouldn’t want such a song contest for his children.

Dzhambazki also made the following comments after being asked if he could change anything that happened in the European Union in the last 12 months:

“The resolution for the human rights of the third gender is absolutely an unacceptable targeting of humanity against nature. There are men and there are women in the normal world, everything else is a preserve liberty. And this craziness must not be regularized in any manner. Another important problem is the EU Roadmap against homophobia and discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity resolution. That enables the legalization of same-sex marriages. In my opinion the gays may have only conventional human rights. The rights of the heterosexuals are not mentioned in any document. So isn’t the EU Roadmap a discrimination to them?”

Angel Dzhambazki was yesterday accpected into the Conservative Party’s ECR group in the European parliament.

Liberal Democrat MEP Catherine Bearder made the following comments to PinkNews regarding Dzhambazki’s acceptance: ““The public deserves an explanation as to why Conservative MEPs have agreed to share a platform with this divisive and hateful figure who is so out of touch with British values of tolerance and compassion.”

“Despite his name, this man is clearly no angel. In fact, by associating themselves with such an openly racist and homophobic politician the Tories are dancing with the devil.”
