A NSW Upper House candidate stripped down to nothing but a sign pronouncing ‘nude is not rude’ at the state electoral commission on Wednesday.

Independent candidate and ‘nudist’ Stuart Baanstra entered the commission wearing a robe and a bow tie, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Baanstra told SMH he was a gay man and a nudist; he also said he ‘believes in the rights of people to live without clothes’.
Guards escorted the 48-year-old out of the office shortly after he removed his clothes; although he later revealed he was wearing a black G-string.

NSW Upper House elections have been particularly lively this year with former One Nation party leader Pauline Hanson contesting a seat.
