Billy Eichner gets his first serious boyfriend on Difficult People Season 3

John Cho is set to join the cast of Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner’s hit comedy Difficult People as the third season kicks off later this year, taking on the role of Billy’s first serious boyfriend.

The show follows the ever-cynical openly gay Billy and his best gal pal / fellow comedian Julie as they navigate New York as two of the most bitter, hateful (and hilarious) people on Earth.

Broadcaster Hulu announced the new addition to the cast earlier this week, describing Cho’s character Todd as “an advertising executive who’s every bit as mean and twisted as Billy and Julie.”

Playing Todd will be Cho’s second time portraying an LGBT character on screen, portraying Hikaru Sulu as a gay married man in the most recent iteration of the Star Trek movie franchise.

Cho joins other series regulars Gabourey Sidibe, Cole Escola, James Urbaniak and the incredible Andrea Martin when the show returns in August.

While there’s no trailer for the third season yet, first timers can get a taste of Difficult People below.
