Soccer star Abby Wambach marries

US soccer star Abby Wambach has wed her partner Glennon Doyle Melton. Wambach shared the news of her weekend nuptials over Instagram.

Wambach is a two time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion. In 2012 she was named FIFA World Player of the Year and she holds the record for the most goals scored by a member of the US Women’s team.

She tied the knot with her partner who is a successful blogger who writes about families and motherhood. It’s the second marriage for both. Wambach had previously been married to fellow soccer star Sarah Huffman, while Melton had been married to Craig Melton with whom she has three children.

The pair shared the photos of their big day on Instagram., tagging the photos #lovewins.
