Rainbow politics have shown deep divides with the Liberal party over the last week, but the growing number of people within the party calling for action on LGBTI rights.
Amid the controversy over comments made by Minister Christopher Pyne, a new group called Liberal Pride has surfaced to highlight LGBTI political issues within the party.
Described as being the Liberal’s version of Rainbow Labor, the group announced that they’ll be holding their official launch in Melbourne in early August. The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Rory Grant (pictured) is the group’s President.
Grant, who is Christopher Pyne’s Senior Communications and Media adviser, is currently seeking pre-selection for the Melbourne seat of Prahran.
