Troye Sivan: Going to the Pride Parade was a life changing experience

Troye Sivan has recalled his first Pride Parade describing it as a life changing experience.  The pop star, actor and video blogger shared his memory in a video made for Paper magazine.

“Being surrounded by people who are just like you, as crazy as you, maybe even crazier than you, it was like – electrifying. I’ve never felt anything like it.” Sivan said.

“There is a community in the world that will love and support you, absolutely unconditionally.”

Sivan’s first experience of a Pride Parade was right here in his home town of Perth and his whole family took part in the event.

The 2017 Pride Parade through the streets of Northbridge will take place on Saturday 25 November. This year the theme of the festival is ‘Freedom’.

Sivan is currently working on the follow-up to his highly successful Blue Neighbourhood album. His most recently release was There For You, a collaboration with EDM artist Martin Garrix.

Earlier this year Canadian artist Allie X included a tune written by Sivan on her debut album.

This week Sivan debuted a striking new haircut, dying his dark locks platinum blonde. The singer posted some shirtless photos to his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

One fan gave Sivan a little too much attention the other day though. The singer shared on his Twitter account that he’d decided to move out of his airbnb because a neighbour was a little too amorous.

After cruising Sivan on the street as he waited for his Uber Eats delivery, the neighbour knocked on Sivan’s door at midnight hoping to get the singer’s attention. When Sivan went to go out the next day he found a note from the neighbour suggesting a late night hook-up.
