Ruby Rose set to play gay Batwoman on TV

Actor Ruby Rose is set to return to our TV screens, she’s just signed on to play Batwoman in several Warner Bros TV series.

Batwoman will be introduced in story lines linking  The ArrowThe FlashSupergirl and DC Legends. In the crossover event Rose’s Batwoman will team up with The Green Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and the DC Legends. If the character is popular with viewers Rose might get her own spin-off series.

The character of Batwoman, who is a different character to Batgirl, has been in the DC Comics several times in a complicated story arc – but Rose will play Kate Kane a lesbian who is Jewish.

Rose who started her career as a host on Australia’s MTV has moved into acting after a successful career as a DJ, and a less success career as a musician. Her most prominent role to date as been playing the character of Stella on Orange is the New Black.
