The prize was announced on Saturday 30th November at ADFAS Special General Meeting at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

ADFAS committee member Dr Mariana Atkins says the organisation recognises that young artists “face many challenged during the early stages of their career.”

“This new award has been established to support talented young artists to follow their passion and gain recognition,” Dr Atkins said, “It is a great opportunity for emerging artists.”

The Youth Arts Award is open to people between the ages of 15 and 25 in metropolitan Western Australia, and will be judged by a cross-genre panel of community members including Kevin Jackson, Tristan Parr, Felicity Johnston and Digby de Bruin.

Applications close on 31st March 2020. For more information or to apply, head to adfas.org.au
