Walking group WA Wanderers will be heading out on Sunday to walk to the South Ledge in Mundaring.

The group will be meeting up at Guildford Railway Station before car pooling up up to Mundaring for the four hour walk through Beelu National Park and the Helena valley.

Whether it’s to meet people, get some exercise, get out of the house or see a part of the local surroundings you’ve never seen before, WA Wanderers is a great community group to engage with.

WA Wanderers coordinator Ro says the trek is a chance to see early spring flowers, especially yellow wattle should be out already.

“The walk incorporates parts of several other walk tracks – the Bibbulmun Track, the Winjan Track and the Munda Biddi Track. We see part of the CY O’Connor pipeline that takes water from Mundaring Weir to the Goldfields, including a pumping station.” Ro said.

The walk is 8km, grade 3 and takes about 4 hours to complete. Walkers are encouraged to bring warm kit and be prepared for possible rain. As well as a picnic lunch, plenty of water to drink and optional snacks.

If you’re not a member yet, bring $5 for insurance for the walk or $10 for the remaining half year membership.

All the details can be found on the group’s website at www.wawanderers.com.au. You need to register that you’re coming along.
