Madonna announces new intimate 'Madame X' tour

Madonna has announced she’s heading off on tour to support her new album Madame X.

The tour announcement was made in a comical video Madonna posted to You Tube. In the clip a cowboy-clad Diplo drops by Madonna’s house and they chat about the upcoming tour.

Over Margaritas Madonna tells Diplo she’s going on tour, “I’d expect as much” Diplo responds.

“But I’m doing a special tour” Madonna says. “What are you doing Stadiums?” Diplo asks, “Arenas?” or even “Colosseums?”

Madonna then announces her new tour will be up close and intimate in theatres.

During her last Australian tour Madonna did a one-off Tears of a Clown show in a Melbourne theatre.

The first dates see the tour heading to venues in the USA with tickets ranging from USD$60 to $700. The first series of shows are seven nights in New York City in September, followed by four shows in Chicago in October, and a run of five shows in Los Angeles in November.

In 2020 Madonna will head to the Coliseum in Lisbon, the Palladium in London and at the Grand Rex in Paris, bit specific dates have not yet been announced.

Madonna last visited Australia in 2016 for the conclusion of her Rebel Heart tour. The only other times she’s made down under was back in 1993 with The Girlie Show Tour. So we’re probably not due another visit until 2039.
