He’ll be chatting to author Alicia Tuckerman upstairs at The Balmoral Hotel in Victoria Park. Invisible Boys is Sheppard’s debut novel and it’s been getting heaps of praise.

Scott-Patrick Mitchell praised the book saying it is clearly the start of a brilliant career for the Western Australian writer.

“Sheppard opens the reader up to how small town life treats LGBTIQA+ youth and, now that he has, maybe this book will start a conversation on how to address small town homophobia. What this book has certainly begun is a brilliant career for one of WA’s brightest literary talents.” Mitchell said in his review of Invisible Boys

The book has already picked up the prestigious T.A.G. Hungerford Award, and the publishers ordered a second print run of the book just days after its release.
