Pride to Hold Xmas Fundraising Ball

Earlier this week Pride announced that they were $36,000 in debt and called a Special General Meeting on December 19th. Now, the Pride committee has said they will hold a Xmas Masquerade Ball and Awards Night on Saturday December 15th at Swan Districts Football Club in Bassendean to raise money for Pride.

According to Male Co-President Dean Cahill, ‘No cost will be incurred to Pride on this [event].’

He said the Pride committee members would be paying out of their own pockets to hire the venue, which will cost $650.

At the event, Pride will give out an award for the best Pride float, and community groups will be invited to present awards as well. As of yet, Pride has not locked in any entertainment, but they have said they will only book entertainment on a volunteer-basis. In addition, they said they will look at cost-free marketing, such as email.

Tickets to the event will be $50 for couples, $45 for singles; Pride members receive a discount on tickets $40/$35. Tickets will be available at the Pride Professional Alliance Sundowner on Wednesday November 21st or the Women’s Sundowners Wednesday November 14th and December 12th. Alternatively, contact Sharlene on 0408 097 254.
