Samara Wiley is engaged

Orange is the New Black star Samara Wiley has announced her engagement to writer Lauren Morelli.

Morelli is a writer on the Netflix show where Wiley played the popular character of Poussey Washington.

The couple posted a picture to Wiley’s Instragram account showing off an engagement ring.

Morelli has previously written about how she didn’t realise she was gay until she began writing for the series. She was previously married to TV writer Steve Basilone.

The writer said she realised that she was gay while writing scenes for Orange is the New Black.

Since wrapping the most recent series of Orange is the New Black WIley has appeared in feature thriller Nerve alongside Emma Stone and Dave Franco. Next year she’ll appear in the TV series The Handmaid’s Tale alongside Elizabeth Moss and Joseph Fiennes.

Wiley’s not the only actress from Litchfield Correctional Facility with a shiny ring on her finger. Laura Prepon, who plays Alex Vause, has also become engaged.

Prepon is engaged to actor Ben Foster, the actress showed off her new engagement ring at the premiere of her new film The Girl on the Train. Foster, who has appeared in a swag of films, was previously engaged to House of Cards actress Robin Wright.
