Over a hundred people walked through the streets of Perth to highlight the continuing practice of sexual assault victims being blamed for their attacks and to draw attention to the sometimes unmet needs of people who have been sexually assaulted.
The annual parade began in Stirling Gardens and traveled through the city and Northbridge ending at Russell Square where victims of sexual assault shared their poignant stories.
The speeches spoke of challenges with the legal system, working with police and community attitudes towards people who have been sexually assaulted.
The international movement began in Canada in 2011 following comments from police officer stating that if women did not want to get raped, they should stop dressing like sluts.
