The festival is over for another year and this year’s was successful as ever. The community rallied together to run and support different events over the seven week period. Fairday was a massive success, the film festival excelled in its new Northbridge venue, and the community-run events were a hit.

The parade itself brought celebration, excitement, colour and an upmost feeling of community to the streets of Northbridge. The theme ‘For our community’ was fully embraced and the costumes and effort put into the floats was better than ever. While float numbers were slightly down on last year, the energy and enthusiasm made up for it. Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to everyone who was part of it. Without you, there wouldn’t be a parade.

The Parade After Parties brought the night together in the way that only they can.

Digital Arcade at Connections was everything it promised to be and more. With local, interstate and international artists taking to the stages, it was a night not to be missed. The different spaces and themes worked and complemented each other perfectly, with the party atmosphere rounding everything off.

Her at Harry’s bar was the success everyone hoped it would be. The management and staff were more than willing to help in everyway, and closed off the venue to the public from 9pm, allowing more tickets to be available for sale. As the venue had been open before we got there, it meant we had a couple of stragglers for a while, but they were barely noticed and soon left, leaving us to run wild.
Jewel spun the perfect party tunes all night, catering to everyone, and the performers from the Drag King Association of Perth (DKAP) filled the room with energy, excitement, talent and laughter with their brilliant performances.

As always, with the close of the Pride season, the festive season is fast approaching to be followed swiftly by the end of the year. We are already hard at work evaluating this year and getting the motions set in place for next year, including the much missed events that were postponed until next year: The Glammies and The Ball.

We also want to work with community groups and the community itself to do our very best to make sure that all aspects of the community are worked with and helped.

We would like to thank everyone we’ve worked with over the past year and our members, new and continuing. The events, and the difference we make in the community couldn’t happen without you and we look forward to working with you again in the New Year.
